This is a great reminder which we need most in times of struggle. I like how Stephen Mcwhirter often changes the lyrics to sing ‘You’ and ‘Your’ instead of ‘Him’ and ‘His’ throughout the song as it really captures the fact he is singing this to God not just about God. In the video description he also includes a few words I believe are worth sharing —
I love the worship song Cornerstone by @hillsongworship because when a public figure, pastor, worship (leader), etc. falls my faith is not shaken. I am standing on the Cornerstone of my faith, JESUS! Ephesians 2:20 - "Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself."
It really is about Jesus, not us. Please enjoy the song Cornerstone for our #WednesdayWorship!
Verse 1
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus name
Chorus
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Savior's love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all
Verse 2
When darkness seems to hide Your face
I rest on Your unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil
Verse 3
When You shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in You be found
Dressed in Your righteousness alone
Faultless I stand before Your throne
