All Things New
This past Sunday saw the passing of Big Daddy Weave’s Jay Weaver at the age of 42. Most Christians will instantly know who that band and man is and was. I actually didn’t see the news of his death on Sunday night or even Monday, but was told by a friend Monday evening. I have to admit I didn’t follow him or the band closely in recent years, but Mr. Weaver has apparently seen his fair share of medical issues in the relatively short time he spent here on earth. With that in mind, and not at all trying to diminish the pain his family and friends are feeling, we can rejoice in the fact he is with Jesus and experiencing the best “all things new” life.
You make all things new
You make all things new
God of mercy and love
Do what only You can do and make all things new
As I witness all the brokenness in this world and deal with my own struggles just like the rest of you, it’s so comforting to know that God makes all things new. How often do you stop and give thanks to God for that? If this wasn’t so, our lives would ultimately be void of meaning and hopeless. Sure, we could fill our lives with temporary things and people we tell ourselves have meaning while we cling to our optimism, but isn’t that a substitute? If we put our hope in people and things, and they bring us meaning, then when we lose them are we not left hopeless and our lives void of meaning? There must be something more! There must be Someone more!
You make all things new
You make all things new
God of mercy and love
Do what only You can do and make all things new
It pains me to watch people get crushed under the weight of the extreme changes and absurd measures taken in societies the last couple years. I see victims of mass psychosis lashing out in their confusion and fear. I see people drowning in despair as they turn to drugs and suicide to deal with the stress and seclusion society has forced upon them. I’ve watched in anger and horror as people who have gotten a very treatable respiratory disease have been denied early treatment and been told to “wait and see,” while masses of people and our tech overlords silence and attack those who question why this is the first ever respiratory disease we deal (in reality DON’T deal) with this way. Courageous doctors and actual experts have been putting their careers and reputations on the line only to be ridiculed for speaking the obvious and analyzing actual data (also known as “doing science”); actions they were praised and rewarded for before the Covid madness. I’ve seen some of the most loving and genuinely kind people I know shamed and accused of being murderers for simply declining certain experimental medical procedures, as the media, the elite, and the cultist jabbers cheer each other on in their “righteous” endeavors. As my blood boils, it helps to be reminded that they are sinners just like me and that God…
You make all things new
You make all things new
God of mercy and love
Do what only You can do and make all things new
Please enjoy this song by Big Daddy Weave. I hope it brings you peace and proper perspective. RIP Jay Weaver!
